Traditional Worship/Media/Technology Director

Job Objective:

• The Traditional Worship Director oversees worship service flow, song selection, musicians, and the overall performance for creating a well-organized, memorable traditional church service.
• The Traditional Worship/Media/Technology Director shall fulfill the objectives of the Traditional Worship Director plus he/she will be responsible for the main media areas of worship production, digital asset management, communications and equipment management. Primary Responsibilities:

1. Recruits necessary musicians, singers, and choir members for vocal and instrumental groups for a quality worship experience. Organizes, leads, and oversees paid musicians and volunteers for prelude, worship and special music of solos, ensembles, choral and hand-bell choir for services, memorials and/or special events.
2. Works with staff and volunteers to ensure that the audio, visual, and lighting are functional and enhancing to the worship service.
3. Submits a budget to the Sr. Pastor with items needed to sustain and improve the worship service.
4. Communicates proactively to Sr. Pastor if non-budgeted needs arise.
5. Responsibilities under Media/Technology:

• Creates graphics for: Outdoor electronic sign; coordinate with staff the Rotator video for streaming; Sunday announcement crawl; Create sermon series logos; create Sunday sermon visuals.
• Creates the Media Shout “scripts” for Sunday worship gatherings, which handles song lyrics, embedded videos, embedded PowerPoint for sermon slides, other stills.
• Creates “Life in Pictures” presentations for funerals/memorial services (typically must first scan photos)
• Connects Live stream from CDN to church website and YouTube.
• Works with sound operator; computer (Media Shout) operator; video team.

e. Develops relationships with unbelievers to be personally effective in pursuing the Great Commission and helping the church to do the same.

f. PWCC membership (regular or associate) following appropriate time frame.

Competencies:

a. Displays an adequate level of quality in vocal and instrumental abilities to include reading and interpreting music, vocal and choral, and seeks to always improve.

b. Demonstrates comfort as a servant leader, building and leading a team of musicians that inspire and

move the congregation in worship.

c. Understands the unique environment of ministering in a retirement community and is willing to craft a worship environment that is relevant to that community.

d. Possesses some skill and experience in audio/visual and lighting.

e. Coordinates song media preparation with Media Technologist.
