Associate Pastor (With Worship Leading Ability)

ASSOCIATE PASTOR (WITH WORSHIP LEADING ABILITY) NEEDED

Redeeming Life Church is located in Bountiful, Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City. With a less than 2% evangelical population, “unreached” and “mission field” best describe our ministry area.  There are few Christians, limited resources, and many challenges. 

Pastors who serve here are front-line missionaries combating the world’s greatest need, lostness.

We are prayerfully seeking a full-time Associate Pastor who can also lead musical worship and serve the church by handling the word of God rightly and assisting in a variety of ministry areas.

The right candidate must be able to lead the congregation in theologically rich worship music (both contemporary music and modernized hymns) without the aid of others, but also be able to build and lead a diverse team.  Creative, flexible, technically savvy, patient and possesses a deep love for God and people best describes the person we’re seeking. Above all, the right candidate must understand God’s call to Utah, a hard, dry part of the Lord’s vineyard that’s saturated with false religion and spiritual oppression. 

While this leader will assist with morning and evening worship gatherings—to include teaching and series design, audio/video and all aspects of the service—he will also serve in other ministry areas in team ministry with our Lead Pastor and volunteer leaders. He must be able to occasionally assist with preaching and be able to fill-in during the Lead Pastor’s absence. He should also not be afraid to help with kid’s/youth ministry and be willing to lead a devotional at a seniors’ luncheon or a mid-week fellowship group.

We are willing to work with someone needing ministry and/or leadership development, even assisting the candidate to attend Bible college or seminary (on-line).

While it is possible that the candidate would remain with Redeeming Life for many years, serving in this current role, we are also hopeful that he would be someone who aspires to the office of Lead Pastor or even possibly be open to planting a church in the future.

Whatever the future holds, we want to follow God’s lead. We will use 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1:6-9, 2 Peter 1:5-11, and other Scriptures to assess character and calling. 

Our Lead Pastor is generally reformed in his theology, and while the ideal candidate is not required to be reformed, he must affirm the Confessional Statement of Redeeming Life Church.
